Known as the herb doctor, as it is thought the roots produce healing substances to other plants near it, it was renowned in ancient cultures for its healing powers which include its ability to stop blood (styptic). I used yarrow in my postpartum tea, for styptic abilities, along with ladys mantle. It is also rich in minerals, a lovely tonic in that situation. My experience for both births was very little bleeding. A few hours maximum from what I remember.
