Calendula (Calendula officinalis), Mullein (Verbascum thapsus), Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa), Thyme (Thymus vulgaris), Catnip (Nepeta cataria), Plantain (Plantago lanceolata), Nettle (Urtica dioica), Holy Basil (Ocimum tenuiflorum), Crimson Clover (Trifolium incarnatum) infused with vegetable glycerine.
Dose 1/2 to 1 teaspoon 2 to 4 times a day. Depending on size of child and severity of symptoms.
If in doubt, or symptoms' are not clearing please seek advice as something more hard hitting may be needed, or an underlying issue may be at work. Things can move very quickly with children from being 'okay' to being very ill.
Calendula is used here for its amazing lymph clearing abilities, with mullein as a classic lung herbs, and wild bergamot acting like a very strong organo being anti microbial along with thyme. Catnip is an amazing cold and cough herb for children being pungent and the plantain soothing along with its high doses of vit c. Holi basil is un#plifting and a great immune support and the crimson clover and nettle boost minerals with the body needs to fuel its immune response.
I have tried various ways to get medicine into my children and I've learned a few things. One is get in there quick. First signs of a cough or cold dish out the medicine. One dose can be enough. My daughter was run down from being away and life and a cough appeared, I made this mix and she had two doses, which was one teaspoon in a little warm water, along with some early nights and that was it. It could be taken straight and while the vegetable glycerine is sweet, it is loaded with herbs so a little warm water dilutes it.
I wrote a little article here on vegetable glycerine which doesn't answer the questions I was asking around how it is sweet but doesn't metabolize like sugar, but still may be of interest.
